Matrix

funinprek1.blogspot.com

This site has some wonderful ideas for a lot of different activities and holidays.  I am so excited to be able to use them when I get into my first class.  She provided items you can download or purchase at Teachers paying Teacher.

This site was informative, since she writes webinars she has a lot of ideas she uses in her glass.   She was also very detailed in her classroom design which is very excited she puts that much thought into the set up of her classroom.

thefirstgradeparade.blogspot.com

This site was my favorite, I will be using is as a resource for my classroom.  Her organizational skills and decorations were impressive.  I feel a organized teacher is a calm teacher with a calm class.

I also enjoyed this site, her cheap ideas from Dollar tree where  very inspiring, since I will be busy paying off loans to be able to provided extra ordinary classroom items.

Student websites

Dr. Jean and Friends

Tracy G. suggested this website, I found it to be very informative and well organized.   Her ideas of using repetition with different activities to help students remember a subject by using it in different ways.    The site also covered organization and various activities by themes.  I loved her idea of the Sub CD,  this is a perfect way to help a sub.  You can video tape the room to show the sub where everything is in the room and how to operate the electronics.

Dr. Jean touched on Assessments and how to organize them and keep track of results along with presenting them to parents at conferences.

Bree S. suggested this site.  I loved all her activities she had a great variety to cover all many holidays and other themes.    I have gathered several ideas for Dr. Seuss week and other times throughout the year.  The more I look around at Pinterest and these sites the more excited I get to be in the classroom.

Fun in PreK

This blog has a lot of different ideas for activities.  At funinprek1.blogspot.com, she has compiled a lot of exercises to go along with books and other ideas.  She has organized her sight so you can look up different ideas she has had throughout the year.  It has  links to freebies and downloads.  She has provided step by step directions for games and other items she has made for her classroom.

She gave me some cute ideas for Christmas Math games, Thanksgiving activities, and bringing the outside in for children to explore.

She has been blogging since 2010 but her sight is under construction on a few so I have no idea how long she has been teaching and other personals about her.

Learning and Teaching Preschool

I looked through a lot of preschool blogs before I found one that really caught my eye.   Most of the ones I found were really boring and uninformative.  The learningandteachingwithpreschool.com finally peaked my interests.  The first post was about the schedule and the centers she has in her classroom along with downloadables that were really colorful and helpful.

She provided pictures of her classroom and the renovation she did on her household center.  It was so good.  She made it look so homey, but yet fun for the children to play and role model in.
She also provided organizational ideas and activities for the classroom.

I was impressed with her classroom design and how much thought and time she put into organizing her room and getting everything set up to flow well in the classroom.   I am sure she worked hard and I bet it worked beautifully.

She also put a lot of work into her planning of activites in the class.  I would love to be able to visit her classroom to get inspiration.
She also developed the Learning and Teaching Preschool workshops.

First Grade Parade

The second blog I liked was thefirstgradeparade.blogspot.com, she has been a teacher for 13 years at 4 different school.   The first post was on behavior management.  I was very impressed with it and think I may use it or a version of it my classroom.   She has been know to tell the kids they knocked her socks off.  So to make a visual for the class she hung a sock up with treats in it.  During the day she will move the sock to a different table that has impressed her.  At the end of the day whichever table  has the sock, gets the prizes.  I love the idea of positive reinforcement and providing a visual for the students to watch throughout the day.   She has other great ideas on organization of the classroom and for assessments.   The 100th day activities were amazing.  I had never thought of it as 100 days "SMARTER".  She offers a great ideas for a new teacher and exciting ideas for a refresher for older teachers.

Kindergarten and First Grade Loopy

The first blog I came across was smarttartslearning.blogspot.com, she is a kindergarten/first grade looping teacher.  Her blog was full of organizing ideas and activities.   She has posted several ideas for literature and math activities for the classroom.  I love the hair she added to faces using bingo dabbers.    Being a cheapskate, I really enjoyed her Dollar Tree tips.   It was very encouraging for when I have my own classroom that I can make it fun and organized cheaply.

Her themed lessons were so creative, the Gingerbread man hunt was so cute.  Definately a very fun one for Christmas time.

Her blog has been rated A+

I could spend hours, looking at all of her post and making notes for later.
